Text Box: The Children’s Shelter of Blackstone Valley was founded in 1979 to:   · Serve the children of the state of Rhode Island who are the victims of abuse or neglect;   · Provide a residential crisis intervention center with a safe, home-like environment for boys and girls;   · Act as advocates and representatives for all abused and neglected children   The boys and girls who need our care are as young as a few weeks old up to twelve years of age. All of the children who come to the shelter have been traumatized by their negative experiences - by the neglect or the abuse, or by the separation from their families.
