Text Box:        Child abuse includes emotional, physical, sexual abuse, medical neglect and the failure to provide basic needs. In the US, a report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds and five children die each day from abuse and neglect. Younger children appear to be the most vulnerable due to their dependency, small size and inability to defend themselves.       Children between the ages of birth and twelve years who need protection are brought to our shelter at all hours of the day or night, 365 days a year. They are often hungry, dirty and frightened. All are in need of special attention to make them feel safe. We have cared for over 1,700 children since our founding.  We have provided effective care for thirty years and are dedicated to providing quality services to children into the future.       Our goal is to ensure that every child who comes to our shelter will experience healing in their hearts and lives as a result of the warmth, care and acceptance they receive from us. · To see how you can help, click on our  "You Can Help” page.
